There is no doubt that a good sex life has a huge impact on the overall quality of life. However, many women experience discomfort due to their external genitalia (labia minora, perineum, vaginal opening), size and asymmetry of the vagina, or previous trauma after childbirth.

Most women are reluctant to discuss these delicate issues even with the closest people, even more with their family physician. However, women having these problems unnecessarily suffer and avoid contacting specialists, as these problems, although very intimate, can be solved easily and simply.

Although this issue is not widely discussed in our society, such plastic surgeries have gained wide acceptance over the world, and modern surgical methods allow achieving perfect results, which meet the expectations of every woman.

During an individual consultation, the specialists of plastic and cosmetic surgery will answer all your questions, will give you professional advice, and will help you make a personally acceptable decision.

Labiaplasty is performed when the labia minora are enlarged, asymmetrical, or poorly healed after childbirth.

How Is the Surgery Performed?

During the surgery, the excess tissue of the labia minora is removed or the labia minora of the desired size are reshaped newly by refreshing the edges of the labia minora healed poorly after childbirth. The surgery is performed under general or local (spinal, epidural) anesthesia. During the surgery, the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures. Some small lumps remain externally that are removed after 10–14 days.

What Should Be Known After Surgery?

  • The patient should refrain from sexual intercourse for 6 weeks after the surgery;
  • After the surgery, the labia minora completely heals and forms only after a few months, and they always are slightly uneven; this can be observed during a comprehensive examination.
